An 8-day/7-night tour that showcases all that Jordan has to offer, from the most famous sites to lesser accessible wonders throughout this amazing Middle Eastern country. Check out the capital city of Amman, well-known for its numerous landmarks such as the Roman Theater and Citadel, and then move on to the ancient city of Petra, overwhelmed by its rock-cut architecture. Explore some of the top Jordan attractions, like the breathtaking desert landscapes of Wadi Rum with a Bedouin-guided trek, and relax at the Dead Sea. The journey will be historical too, with Jordanian history and the Jordan River, mentioned in the Bible, making this one of the most interesting and unforgettable destinations on the planet.
Upon arrival, a member of our staff will meet you at Queen Alia International Airport. For those looking to explore International vacations, this is the perfect starting point for your journey. Transfer to hotel in Amman. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast. Depart Amman to visit the Greco-Roman City of Jerash, also known as the City of the Thousand Columns. Jerash showcases the grandeur of Imperial Rome (and is sometimes referred to as the Pompeii of the East). It is considered one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside Italy. As the most pristine Decapolis City (meaning ten cities in Greek) in the modern world, Jerash’s prosperity can be admired in the colonnaded main street and lovely Oval Piazza. Visit the town of Ajlun with its fortress, one of the best-preserved examples of medieval Arab military architecture in the entire Middle East, which was once governed by Saladin. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Jordan Valley. Proceed to visit Um Qais, a city rich with black basalt ruins from the Hellenistic era, known as Gadara, a hilltop site in the northwest corner of Jordan with grand views of the Golan Heights and Lake Tiberius (the Sea of Galilee). Um Qais is also famous for being one of the ten cities that belonged to the Decapolis. Along the way, experience highlights from Middle East trips that showcase the region's rich history and stunning landscapes. Return to Amman. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast. Departure to visit the ruins of the Amman Roman Theatre, the Citadel, and the Umayyad Palace. The tour includes visits to the Archaeological and Folklore Museums. During the day, you’ll experience some of Jordan's top 10 places to visit, offering a glimpse into the country’s fascinating history. Afterward, enjoy free time for walking and shopping in the old downtown area of the city. Later, transferred to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, located 395 meters below sea level. Float in its unique salt-rich waters, which make it nature’s natural spa. Free time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast. Morning departure to Mujib Reserves for a Hiking Tour (Siq Trail). Along the way, experience some of the best things to do in Jordan, including exploring the natural beauty of the area. We will continue our journey to the city of Kerak, where we will visit the Crusader’s Castle, with its diverse history dating from the Byzantine to the Mamluk period, and learn about the architectural military brilliance of the Crusaders. Continue to Petra. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast. We will start our journey to explore Petra, aptly described as the “rose-red city, half as old as time”. The ancient city was founded by the Nabateans 2000 years ago. Its massive architectural structure and its multicolored stones are an incredible attraction. The visit to the ancient Nabatean capital starts on horseback, followed by a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs. Towards the end of the Siq, you will be spellbound by Petra’s most famous monument; the Treasury. The tour then proceeds to gradually unfold the mysteries of the city. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast proceed to Beida, also known as Little Petra, and the place where the Nabateans used to entertain their guests. Continue south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Jeep Tour inside the Wadi. Watch the most beautiful view while drinking a cup of traditional Bedouin tea. Transfer to the campsite inside the desert. Dinner and overnight at camp.
After breakfast, visit the Christian town of Madaba, known as ‘The City of Mosaics’. You will visit the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where you’ll see the masterpiece of Madaba (a Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land from the 6th century, showing Jerusalem and other cities). Along the way, experience some of Jordan's beautiful places, including the Archaeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin. The park complex also includes a school for the restoration and conservation of ancient mosaics. We will then go to Mt. Nebo, considered one of the most important holy sites in Jordan, where it is believed Moses climbed from the Valley of Moab and was shown the Promised Land, and where he is said to have been laid to rest. The site features ruins from the 4th to the 6th century, with marvelous mosaics adorning the church grounds still visible. Continue to Amman. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for final departure.
