Have your breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Cairo International Airport for a flight to Luxor early in the morning. You'll start your day by visiting the west bank of Luxor, where you will pay a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where you will learn about the construction and evolution of royal tombs since it was built to protect the tomb from robbery. Get to see the Colossi of Memnon, enormous statues sitting majestically of Pharaoh Amenhotep III and his mortuary temple. Then, you will head from there to the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs of Egypt, built by one of the brilliant architects of the New Kingdom, also called Deir El Bahari.
Later in the afternoon, cross the Nile River to its East Bank and explore one of the most sacred and venerated sites of ancient Egypt: the sprawling temple complex called Karnak. Check into your hotel with time to rest. Enjoy breakfast before your flight back to Cairo. You'll start your city tour by visiting the Egyptian Museum, which hosts the largest collection of artifacts of ancient Egypt in the world, including the treasures of Tutankhamun and many others. Next, proceed to the Citadel of Saladin, one of the most interesting forts in Cairo and one of the most important parts of the history of the city where the stunning Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque lies, offering great panoramic views over Islamic Cairo.
Then, proceed to Coptic Cairo and see the Fortress of Babylon, a product of the Roman Empire; the Hanging Church, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary; and the Church of St. Sergius, whose crypt was a refuge of the Holy Family. Lastly, go to Ben Ezra Synagogue, where it is said that the basket carrying Moses was found. Before heading back to the hotel, you will visit Khan El Khalili, Cairo's most sprawling, bustling bazaar.
