Day 3

Your excursion begins with a pick-up from your hotel by your tour guide, embarking on a captivating Cairo Day Tour to explore Memphis, Sakkara, and Dahshur Pyramids. Your first stop will be at Sakkara, where you'll encounter the Step Pyramid, recognized as the world's oldest major stone structure. Constructed in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser, it stands as a testament to ancient engineering marvels. Following your exploration at Sakkara, you'll indulge in a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey. Next on the itinerary is a visit to Memphis, founded by King Menes and once the illustrious capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Here, you'll encounter historical treasures such as the Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx, reflecting the city's rich cultural heritage. The adventure proceeds to Dahshur, where you'll witness the remnants of ancient pyramids that have endured the test of time. Although some have succumbed to the ravages of nature, two of Dahshur's early pyramids, the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, built during the reign of King Sneferu, remain remarkably preserved. These architectural wonders provide invaluable insight into the evolution of pyramid construction, paving the way for the iconic structures at Giza. After a day filled with exploration and discovery, you'll be driven back to your hotel, concluding your enriching Cairo Day Tour. Your meals for the day include breakfast at the hotel and lunch during the excursion.

Day 4

Embark on a captivating private tour to Alexandria from Cairo, starting at 7:00 am with a pickup from your hotel by our expert Egyptologist. You'll travel in comfort via a private air-conditioned vehicle to Alexandria, which is approximately 220 kilometers northwest of Cairo. Expected arrival in Alexandria around 10 am to start your exploration of this historically rich city. Your day in Alexandria begins with a visit to the Roman Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, a fascinating archaeological site believed to have been established in the 2nd century A.D. and utilized as a burial site for approximately 200 years. This period marked a significant era of cultural fusion in Alexandria, blending ancient Egyptian traditions with various other influences. Next, you'll encounter the imposing Pompey Pillar, a towering red granite column standing at 25 meters tall. Despite its name, the pillar is not directly linked to Pompey but is thought to have been erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian. Your tour continues to the Citadel of Sultan Qeitbay, a remarkable Islamic monument constructed in the 15th century by Mamluk Sultan Qeitbay. Built upon the ruins of the ancient lighthouse commissioned by Ptolemy II in the 3rd century B.C., the Citadel served as a defensive fortress against Crusader threats. Enjoy a delectable lunch at an authentic Egyptian restaurant in Alexandria before proceeding to visit the renowned New Library of Alexandria. Reestablished in October 2002, the library serves as a beacon of knowledge and culture. End your tour by checking into your hotel in Alexandria for an overnight stay, reflecting on the enriching experiences of the day. Meals provided include breakfast at the hotel and lunch during the trip.

It was key for controlling the North African coast and Egypt's trade routes. First, you'll visit the El Alamein Museum, filled with old war stuff like uniforms and photos. Then, you'll see the El Alamein War Cemetery, where thousands of soldiers are buried. Next, you'll visit the German and Italian War Memorials, remembering the soldiers who died there. First on the agenda is a visit to the Alexander the Great Temple, also known as the Temple of the Oracle, where it's believed Alexander sought confirmation of his divine heritage. Next, you'll head to the salty lake where the high salt content makes floating effortless. Take care to avoid getting water in your eyes, and opt for the clearest lake you can find for a refreshing swim. Afterwards, rinse off with mineral water. At 11:00, you'll visit Cleopatra's Bath, a legendary spring mentioned by Siwa's travelers, followed by the Umm Ubaydah or Amun Temple, though much of it has been destroyed over time. Lunch will be at Abdo Restaurant, offering a taste of Siwan cuisine. Then, it's off to explore the Great Sand Sea by 4x4 Jeep, where you can try sandboarding on the impressive dunes. Later, you'll visit the hot and cold spring, Bir Waheed, and enjoy traditional Bedouin tea as you watch the sunset. Finally, you'll have the option to spend the night in a desert camp, complete with a BBQ dinner, or in a comfortable hotel in Siwa's Ecolodges. Meals will be provided, including breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 7

You'll begin your day with breakfast at the camp at 7:00 am before heading back to Siwa Oasis. Your first stop will be the Shali Fortress, a historic structure built on a hill within a protective wall. The fortress, made of mud-brick buildings, served as a home for the oasis inhabitants for nearly eight centuries. Constructed with salt chunks to strengthen its walls, rain has unfortunately caused more damage than human invaders over time. Next, you'll visit the Mountain of the Dead, located just over a kilometer north of Shali. Here, tombs dating back to the twenty-sixth Dynasty, Ptolemaic, and Roman periods are carved into the mountain's side. Among the notable tombs is Si Amun Tomb, showcasing exquisite paintings and artifacts. Afterwards, you'll be driven to Cairo, passing by Marsa Matrouh for lunch. Marsa Matrouh boasts sandy white beaches and clear waters, believed by many to have been frequented by Cleopatra herself. Finally, you'll arrive in Cairo around 8:00 pm, concluding your day.

Day 8

Your day begins with a 6:00 am pick-up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo for the journey to Bahariya Oasis, about 350 km east of Cairo. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, with stops along the way for restroom breaks and coffee. By 10:00 am, you'll arrive and switch to a 4x4 Jeep to explore the Black Desert. At noon, lunch will be served at El Haize Oasis. At 1:00 pm, you'll continue your adventure with a drive to the Valley of Agabat. By 3:00 pm, you'll reach this stunning location, nestled deep within the White Desert. Its otherworldly beauty, formed over millions of years, features unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and possibly sand. At 4:30 pm, you'll explore the White Desert National Park, Egypt's most renowned desert destination. By 5:30 pm, you'll set up tents and prepare to witness the breathtaking sunset. As the sky transforms into shades of pink and fiery orange, you'll enjoy a simple yet satisfying meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables around a small fire. Bedouin staff will take care of dinner arrangements and desert camping, providing a truly memorable experience under the stars.

This natural wonder, formed by quartzite crystals, glistens in the sunlight, earning it the title of the Jewel of the Desert. At 11:00 am, you'll head to Bahariya Oasis and unwind at Bir Sigam, a rejuvenating hot spring located 7 km east of Bahariya on the Cairo road. It's the perfect spot to relax and soak in the soothing warmth. In the summertime, a stop at Bir Madi, a refreshing cold spring, will be included. By 12:00 pm, you'll begin your journey back to Cairo, arriving around 4:30 pm. If desired, lunch can be added for an extra $15 per person.
