Itinerary

Day 1

The full-day tour of old Cairo kicks off with Garbage City, where the visitors will learn and see the really interesting ways the community is taking care of itself by recycling. From there, it would be to the Cave Church of San Simon remarkable cave church in the center of Garbage City. Later, proceed to Coptic Cairo, where old churches such as the Hanging Church are located together with the Coptic Museum. Then visit the Citadel of Saladin, an ancient fortress that has a beautiful view of Cairo and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali from above, with stops for a traditional Egyptian lunch. Then walk about Al Muez Street, appreciating the Islamic architecture, then into the lively Khan El Khalili Bazaar, the oldest market in the Middle East. Returning at the end of the tour to your hotel, you would be enriched by a wonderful experience of a greater understanding of Cairo's culture and history.
